the walk from Thiruvalla was inaugurated by Adv.Mathew T thomas MLA in a function presided over by Sri.John Varghese,Headmaster. Dr.Kurian, Smt.Suja Alex,Sri.Ranjith,Sri Chandrasekharan spoke and the Circle inspector of Police,Sri.Binu Varghese flagged off the Walk.The walk on the way was greeted at Govt.HSS.Kuttoor .The walk,when it reached Chengannur in the evening was received by the Chengannur Municipal council.The Municipal Chairperson and the members were present on the occasion.

The pathanamthitta-Alappuzha Diabetes walk organized by kNOw Diabetes project was launched on 3rd November 2011 by Sri. Oomman Chandi, Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala by handing over the logo ‘Blue Circle’ to the first batch of National service Scheme volunteers who lead the walk.The function held at Chief Minister’s chamber was attended by Sri.Anto Antony MP,Sri Vishnunath,MLA,Sri.Babu George (President, Pathanamthitta District panchayath)Sri.E G Raju(State coordinator, National Service Scheme) and Dr.G Vijayakumar, Project Director, kNOw Diabetes.
