Day 5 - Ranni to Kozhenchery

The walk was from Ranni to Kozhenchery.It was motor vehicle strike in Kerala. Vehicles were almost absent in the roads.But the enthusiastic volunteers managed to reach the venue from different places.The song of the walk and the announcement of the walk messages attracted the attention of all those who were also walking to their destinations in the absence of vehicles.The walk was inaugurated by Sri.Raju Abraham,member of Kerala assembly from Ranni and it reached the next centre,Kozhenchery by evening.

The pathanamthitta-Alappuzha Diabetes walk organized by kNOw Diabetes project was launched on 3rd November 2011 by Sri. Oomman Chandi, Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala by handing over the logo ‘Blue Circle’ to the first batch of National service Scheme volunteers who lead the walk.The function held at Chief Minister’s chamber was attended by Sri.Anto Antony MP,Sri Vishnunath,MLA,Sri.Babu George (President, Pathanamthitta District panchayath)Sri.E G Raju(State coordinator, National Service Scheme) and Dr.G Vijayakumar, Project Director, kNOw Diabetes.
