Day 13 - Ambalappuzha to Alappuzha

From Ambalappuzha the walk set out on November 13th morning.From there the walk was inaugurated by the President of the grama panchayath, Smt.Sathi S Nair and flagged off by Sri Dwijesh,Sub Inspector of Police.Sri S Radhakrishnan Nair,Vice President,Smt.Valsala venu,Chair person,Health& education satanding committee,Sri Sabu,Chairman,welfare Standing committee and Smt.Sulochana Suthan,Chairperson development standing committee spoke.The last lap of the last day's walk was led by NSS volunteers from Leo XIII HSS,Alappuzha where the project activities in the district this year were inaugurated in July by Sri.K.C.Venugopal , Hon.Minister of state for Energy,Govt.of India.As it reached Govt.Girls higher Secondary School,Alappuzha in the evening today,it was an emotional moment for the members of the project team who were with the walk for the last 12 days.

The pathanamthitta-Alappuzha Diabetes walk organized by kNOw Diabetes project was launched on 3rd November 2011 by Sri. Oomman Chandi, Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala by handing over the logo ‘Blue Circle’ to the first batch of National service Scheme volunteers who lead the walk.The function held at Chief Minister’s chamber was attended by Sri.Anto Antony MP,Sri Vishnunath,MLA,Sri.Babu George (President, Pathanamthitta District panchayath)Sri.E G Raju(State coordinator, National Service Scheme) and Dr.G Vijayakumar, Project Director, kNOw Diabetes.
