Day 11 - Kayamkulam to Haripad

The walk was from Kayamkulam to Haripad.As the photos show more and more students and elders are enthusiastically joining the walk everywhere.All schools and local self government authorities wait to greet the walk team and to join the walk.Today the Walk from Kayamkulam was inaugurated by Sri.V K Sadasivan ,Member of Kerala legislative Assembly.The function was presided over by Smt.Gayathri thampan,Chairperson,Kayamkulam Municipal council.Deputy Superintendent of Police Sri.Devamanohar flagged off the walk.The Bluecircle logo was handed over to the walk team by the Chairperson.Sri K Pushpadasan,Ward Councillor,Sri.Pradeeplal,Welfare standing committe chairman and smt .Maheswarikunjamma spoke.The walk travelled about 15 kms and reached Haripad by evening.

The pathanamthitta-Alappuzha Diabetes walk organized by kNOw Diabetes project was launched on 3rd November 2011 by Sri. Oomman Chandi, Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala by handing over the logo ‘Blue Circle’ to the first batch of National service Scheme volunteers who lead the walk.The function held at Chief Minister’s chamber was attended by Sri.Anto Antony MP,Sri Vishnunath,MLA,Sri.Babu George (President, Pathanamthitta District panchayath)Sri.E G Raju(State coordinator, National Service Scheme) and Dr.G Vijayakumar, Project Director, kNOw Diabetes.
