Day 10 - Chengannur to Mavelikkara

The walk started from Mavelikkara on the 10th November from Govt.VHSS, Mavelikkara.It was inaugurated by the Chairman of Mavelikkara Municipality,Adv.K R Muraleedharan.Circle inspector of police flagged Sri Sivasuthan Pillai off the walk.Dr Ramankutty,Prof.Sreechithra institute of Medical sciences was the chief guest.Smt Kavitha Sunil,President,block Panchayath presided over the function and the municipal councillors Smt.Lalitha ravindra nath( Viceepresident),Smt Chellamma,Sri K.gopan,Sri Renjith Kumar spoke on the occasion.The walk reached Kayamkulam by 10yh evening.All along the route hundreds of people joined the walk and applauded the children who lead the walk.

The pathanamthitta-Alappuzha Diabetes walk organized by kNOw Diabetes project was launched on 3rd November 2011 by Sri. Oomman Chandi, Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala by handing over the logo ‘Blue Circle’ to the first batch of National service Scheme volunteers who lead the walk.The function held at Chief Minister’s chamber was attended by Sri.Anto Antony MP,Sri Vishnunath,MLA,Sri.Babu George (President, Pathanamthitta District panchayath)Sri.E G Raju(State coordinator, National Service Scheme) and Dr.G Vijayakumar, Project Director, kNOw Diabetes.
