Day 1 - Adoor to Pandalam
The first two walks postponed due to the sad demise of Sri T M Jacob were held on Thursday,3rd November.

The walk from Adoor was inaugurated at 10 am by Sri,Oommen ThomasChairman, Adoor Monicipality in a function held at Govt.UP School,Adoor was presided over by Smt.Sreelatha Ramesh, Member,Dist.panchayath.Adoor DYSP, Sri. Anil Das flagged off the Walk.Smt Appinazhkathu Santhakumary,former President and Sri A P Jayan,Former Vice president of the pathanamthitta district Panchayath and Dr George John,former vice President,IMA felicitated the walk.Hundreds of students and health workers participated in the walk.Tha walk started at 10 am reached Pandalam covering 10 kms by noon.

The pathanamthitta-Alappuzha Diabetes walk organized by kNOw Diabetes project was launched on 3rd November 2011 by Sri. Oomman Chandi, Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala by handing over the logo ‘Blue Circle’ to the first batch of National service Scheme volunteers who lead the walk.The function held at Chief Minister’s chamber was attended by Sri.Anto Antony MP,Sri Vishnunath,MLA,Sri.Babu George (President, Pathanamthitta District panchayath)Sri.E G Raju(State coordinator, National Service Scheme) and Dr.G Vijayakumar, Project Director, kNOw Diabetes.
