A leading Diabetologist from Pathanamthitta in Kerala, Dr. G Vijayakumar is Chairman & Managing Director of Medical Trust Hospital and Diabetes Care Centre. He was also associated with NSS Medical Mission Hospital and Cooperative Hospital.

Dr. G Vijayakumar has completed his MBBS and MD in General Medicine from Government College in Kottayam. He also possesses Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. Dr. Vijayakumar’s G Dip DC was accomplished from New Castle University, Australia.

Dr. G Vijayakumar has held some important positions during his more than 35 years of distinguished career such as:

• President, Association of Physicians of India – Kerala Chapter (2010 and 2011)
• Director, kNOw Diabetes project (2008-2013) implemented in the districts of Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha Districts in Kerala State in association with the World Diabetes Foundation
• Managing Trustee,P Gadadharan Nampoothiri Memorial charitable Trust
• Regional Coordinator, National Diabetes Educator Program organized by International Diabetes Federation in association with Dr.Mohan’s Diabetes Education Academy

He was also involved in World Diabetes Foundation supported project ‘Primary Prevention of Diabetes and Other Lifestyle Diseases through Targeted Approach’ as a Project Director.
